From Albany to Lafayette. the Yard Sale could pass through the scenic hills and valleys of New York State, you could stop and shop at the dozens of garage, lawn, and yard sales in cities, small communities and rural towns along the way. Whether you are interested in buying or selling Antiques, Furniture, Art, Crafts, or Treasured Junk, it's all sure to be found somewhere along the way! Come, get out in the fresh Spring air, and Have Fun!           Whether you are interested in Shopping or Selling, if you think this is a good idea, and would like to work to encourage the creation of this event, you can contact The Route 20 Association of New York or send an to us,           This annual Yard Sale can be held along US Route 20 between Albany and Lafayette, New York on a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, in Spring or early Summer. If it caught on, it could eventually grow into a coast to coast event held each year.           This a non-sponsored event, meaning that it is not promoted by any particular organization, but represents the efforts of volunteers and those who wish to promote their communities. So, you will find almost anything! The official yard sales take place over three days. There are no set hours. (If you have ever had a yard sale, you know that advertising a set hours never works.) so there are plenty of surprises along the way. The best option for buyers is to locate a convenient starting point and then just head down the road.           Food and drink can be found all along the way, from fast food to intimate restaurants, featuring home cooked meals, as well a several fine dining restaurants. IMPORTANT: Please note that all sales are subject to local laws. Also, no one is to set-up, sell, nor park on the state right-of-way at any time. U.S. Route 20 is both the Loneliest Road in America and a extremely busy highway. Safety is a primary concern.
