The White Crow Award.....

          What is a "White Crow"? You might ask. Well, in the Russian culture a white crow is someone who doesn't fit in; someone who follows their own path, sort of like our expression "Black Sheep".
          In the creative world, more white crows are needed, because they are the ones who break new ground, explore new directions, and open doors for others to follow. They may or may not be exceptionally talented, but deserve to be recognized for their contributions.
          The Gallery at anysaver.com, wanting to encourage and reward experimental creative expression, will, from time to time, present "White Crow" awards to creative individuals, displaying innovation, originality, and a bit of eccentricity in their work. These will be subjective cash awards in varying amounts depending on my view of the work. If you wish to suggest a candidate for an award, please e-mail me with information and the reason you think they deserve to be recognized, and I will consider them.
          The first award ($100) was presented to a Chenango County High School Student, who best met this criteria, participating in the "Artistic Discovery" exhibit at the Chenango County Council of the Arts Gallery .
