A video celebrating Chenango County's

                Artists and Fine Craftworkers

After making my living with my craft for over 25 years, It is my conclusion that people who purchase Art and Craftwork aren't just buying a product, they are buying a piece of the creator, and want to know the person who made it. It is this connection to the artist that makes it special.
The more we can educate the public about the specialness of work by "The Hands of the Artist", the more they will come to value it. I am going to make a video featuring artists and fine craft workers in Chenango County. A video to make the community more aware of the talented creative people that are their neighbors.
I don't want to make a commercial, I want to tell a story. A story about each artist, and why they create, as well as what they create. Since the spirit of the creator is an important part of any hand made work, my goal will be to capture that spirit in addition to the work itself by working with each artist to communicate the creative philosophy behind their work.
You, as a patron of the arts, already know the value of art to the culture, and can play an important role in introducing it to others. You could become a partner in helping to reward the artists who gave their time to participate in this project. Your efforts popularizing thie video will encourage the community to take an interest in these and other artists. If that should happen, our community has more than enough talented artists for future video productions.

I will start shooting shortly, and continue until early Fall, and then do the editing, with a goal of having it finished in time for the holidays. Thus far the artists participating in the project are:

Henry J. Drexler / Painter
Norm Hall / Spinning Wheels
Joseph H Lindsley / Pastel Artist
Grace McQueen / Fiber Artist
Tom Rasely / Composer / Guitarist
Webster and Sons / Fine Cabinetry
Deborah Whitman / Sculpture
